Rust Removal ProductsBiodegradable Liquid Rust RemoverRemoves rust without attacking the base metals. Leaves an almost "white" metal surface even when removing heavy rust. Light rust stains can often be removed in a few minutes. Medium rust may require a 24 hour treatment, while heavy rust treatment somewhat longer.It has been used to remove corrosion products from stainless steel prior to the application of a Clear permanent rust inhibitor coating for protection against atmospheric pollution such as chlorides and sulfates, which can also attack stainless steel.These products can be put into a tank if you wish to immerse the part. Suitable products are also available for process water systems and biodegradable de-liming solutions for specific types of corrosion and/or build of contaminants. Some types of metals such as aluminum require a specialized formulation. Ask Kpr for details. For the removal of heavy rust, the best method may be to warm the solution to 80 F to 97 F in order to accelerate the rust removal. Mechanical agitation or scrubbing will also decrease the amount of time required.Biodegradable rust removers are very safe products and will not normally cause any problems.Nontoxic, non-hazardous, non-fuming, nitrite free and biodegradable rust removers, de-scale and de-lime products are available from Kpr Adcor Inc.As with any industrial product it is recommended to wear the proper personal protection.Gloves and goggles should also be worn to keep the product(s) from coming into contact with the hands or the eyes. After treatment, the metal surface should be rinsed with clean, drinking quality water. These rust removers do provide flash corrosion protection, (short term rust prevention) however, they do not provide corrosion protection once it is washed off.
